That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man — Judges 16:17
His story was the makings of a legend. Though greatly gifted and greatly flawed, he managed to make it to the ‘Hall of Faith’ in Hebrews 11:32. Not only were his exploits wonderfully celebrated but he single-handedly delivered his people from their great foe the Philistines.
Our hero is the great judge of Israel, Samson.
Samson’s story is a curious case study of great strength and great weakness residing side-by-side.
